The 4s program at Growing Tree Nursery School prepares children for Kindergarten by building confidence, independence, and a strong foundation in early literacy, math, and social skills. The Pre-K year is full of growth and excitement, with learning woven into every part of the day.
Circle time includes the Pledge of Allegiance, calendar, weather, and classroom jobs. Children also begin the exciting tradition of counting up to the “100 Days of School”, a milestone celebrated together.
Daily read-alouds, author studies, and felt board stories encourage a love of books and strengthen early comprehension. Children begin connecting stories to themes, ideas, and their own experiences.
Themed art projects and center activities build creativity and strengthen pre-writing muscles. Painting, gluing, tracing, and cutting prepare children for Kindergarten readiness.
Through calendar, weather tracking, and hands-on activities, children practice counting, sorting, and problem-solving. Science comes alive through experiments, nature exploration, and sensory play.
Through songs, movement, and hands-on activities, children learn:
Each week focuses on a new letter with fun scavenger hunts, Friday Show & Tell, and tracing homework to reinforce skills. Learning becomes interactive, playful, and exciting—children are proud to practice and share what they know.
Pre-K children work on independence and responsibility: unpacking their belongings, “signing in” each morning by writing their name, and taking pride in classroom jobs. They continue to practice sharing, cooperation, and problem-solving with peers—skills that set them up for success in Kindergarten and beyond.
Singing, dancing, and group games support rhythm, coordination, and self-expression while keeping learning joyful.
Playground or gym time allows children to run, climb, and build large motor strength while developing teamwork and confidence.
Children are encouraged to eat independently and use mealtimes as a social experience.
Songs help guide the day—whether it’s cleaning up, moving to snack, or gathering for circle—making routines fun, familiar, and comforting.
Families may choose 2, 3, 4, or 5 days per week.
